Cal Poly’s Spring Commencement 2017

College of Liberal Art’s Commencement Ceremony

  • Day: Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 9 a.m.

Name reading will be conducted. Graduates will gather in cap and gown for a high-energy processional featuring a student-produced photographic retrospective with entertainment by Cal Poly student musicians. The program will feature brief remarks, motivational speeches, pinning of our new alumni, the conferral of degrees and a spirited closing. Graduates receive 10 tickets each, distrusted to them as an E-Ticket via their Cal Poly email in April. Mobile device or printed ticket will be accepted at the gates. Guests can download the Guidebook App to access everything they need to know about the main commencement ceremony.  Students will need to be at their college's assembly site one hour prior to their ceremony start time.

Department of Art & Design's Post-Commencement Reception 

  • Day: Saturday, June 17, 2017 
  • Time: Approximately 11:30 a.m. –12:30 p.m. 
  • Location:  Dexter outdoor patio (located outside the Dexter building 34 and Subway, in front of the Dexter building’s glass doors)

There are approximately 45 Art & Design graduating seniors this year. Name reading will be conducted stating each student’s concentration, minor, and tentative honor status. Department awards will also be announced. Art & Design faculty will be present to shake hands with each student after their name is called. Cookies, water, and lemonade will be available. Seating and some shade will be available - first come, first serve. No tickets are required to attend the department reception.

Art & Design graduating seniors are asked to RSVP to the Department Commencement Reception.
