The Art and Design Department and Cal Poly University Art Gallery are pleased to welcome curator Aline Smithson and seven of the eleven national artists featured in Beyond the Surface: The Photograph as Object for a presentation in the gallery this Thursday January 9 at 4pm.
Artists are traveling from NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego to be with us for this event.

Beyond the Surface: The Photograph as Object
Beyond the Surface includes eleven artists using photographic interventions and investigations that include sewing, cutting, and weaving, to interrogate the material qualities of a physical photo and create new realities.
Cal Poly University Art Gallery is located on the first floor of building 34, next to the Kennedy Library.
