Linh Dao is a Assistant Professor of Graphic and Interaction Design. Her creative and scholarly research practice recognizes identity discourses as pivotal in theorizing the development and implementation of creative and emerging technology and in addressing its mediation on our experience of the world. Her areas of focus include: emigration, immigration, and migration, social and economic inequality, minority representation and accessibility.

Prior to joining Cal Poly, Linh taught at Monmouth University in New Jersey as a Specialist Professor in the Department of Art and Design. While there, she has been awarded several research grants, and has won design awards in the field, including the Indigo Design Award, the Graphic Design USA Award and a Creative Quarterly Design Category Award. Her list of clients include many nonprofits such as American Cancer Society, Nonprofit New York, NYU’s De-cruit, Rutgers's National Institute for Early Education Research, New York Historic Districts Council, New York’s Africa Fashion Week, and Philadelphia's 2030. She lives with her 6 lbs domestic short hair cat named Miso-Bún. They both like to eat mango.
