Originally from suburban Chicago, Sara Frantz earned a Master of Fine Arts from University of Texas at Austin in painting. Her current work examines how often disregarded built environments whittle, shape, and define our experience of modern landscape. Before arriving in the central coast, Frantz taught painting and drawing at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas at San Antonio. Represented by the David Shelton Gallery in Houston, her work has been included in internationally recognized art fairs, national solo and group exhibitions. In 2013, she received the Graham Weston Award for the Visual Art, a grant from the San Antonio Artist Foundation. For more about her upcoming shows, visit her website at www.sarajfrantz.com.
