Frye Parlor x Jayme Yen
Jayme Yen brings her unique vision to the Frye Art Museum with the debut of Frye Parlor, on view through January 2027. Known for her thoughtful blending of design, language, and visual culture, Yen reimagines the museum’s shared spaces as an immersive environment where visitors are invited to slow down, reflect, and see themselves as part of the art.

Introducing Frye Parlor—a space for connection that’s part lounge, part experimental installation. This artist-designed social hub invites you to relax, recharge, and engage in a setting that blurs the boundaries between art and experience.
The inaugural concept by Jayme Yen draws inspiration from Frye Salon to create an interactive environment where painting, design, and language merge in playful dialogue. Through poetic phrases, reflective surfaces, and vibrant color fields, the space encourages you to see yourself as part of the art.
Extending beyond the museum’s formal galleries, Frye Parlor spans the common areas linking the auditorium, café, and art studio. Every two years, a new artist will reimagine its custom decor and furnishings, ensuring the space continues to evolve as a dynamic site.
The Frye Art Museum connects Seattle with the art and artists of our time. We collect, exhibit, program, and build community around a wide range of modern and contemporary art, with a special focus on amplifying the voices of living artists.
Admission to the Frye is always free.
