Cal Poly University Art Gallery to Host Student Show ‘Gallimaufry’ June 2-11

Cal Poly’s University Art Gallery will showcase student artwork in the “Gallimaufry” exhibit from 5 p.m. Thursday, June 2, until 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11.

The gallery will also be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, for the Art and Design Department graduation ceremony.

Gallimaufry is defined as a confused mixture, which appropriately describes the range of processes used in this year’s show. Some of the mediums include wet-plate photography, paintings made with wood stain, wearable sculpture, and jewelry made with wood and copper.

Featured artists include art and design seniors Amy Loschiavo, Tenney Rizzo, Emily Detweiler, Sharon LaMontagne, Katie Kohlbush, Kathleen Prendergast, Jenette Wilson, Shauna Jellison, Nicolette Deichler, Charles Wilton, Raymond Norte, Brianna Bertsch and Kate Baird.

The Cal Poly University Art Gallery is free and open to the public 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. The gallery is Room 171 in the Dexter Building (No. 34).
