Art & Design Student award win brings New York Times editor to Cal Poly

Ali Albiani (class of '14) won the first Open Science Cafe award from the Cal Poly Kennedy Library.  The Science Cafe awards a student proposal with a public programs mentor and budget.

Working with Associate Professor Charmaine Martinez, Alibiani's proposal will bring The New York Times graphics editor Steve Duenes to Cal Poly on May 9, 2014.

Mr. Duenes will discuss his career trajectory and how The New York Times graphics department approaches visual journalism and design.
