Mochitsuki 20-minute sneak preview with Q&A at the Palm Theater

This in-person event gave a glimpse into the traditional Japanese mochi-making process. Witness the pounding of rice to create delicious mochi treats right before your eyes. The film weaves together tales that highlight the Japanese American journey as told through this timeless tradition. Join in as intergenerational communities revel in the ceremonial pounding of the cooked rice, the forming of the warm Mochi cakes, and of course eating the yummy results! Older adults and kids alike reflect on what Mochi means to them, leaving not a cheek untouched by rice flour.

This memorable preview was followed by a Q&A with filmmaker, Sky Bergman,
