Library Mural - Call for Proposals
As the Kennedy Library moves towards reopening in Fall 2025 (finally!), we are soliciting proposals for a new mural in the lobby of the renovated building. We are particularly seeking local artists/artist teams whose work will reflect the diverse peoples of Cal Poly and the greater SLO area, both contemporarily and historically. See the following links for more information:
If you know artists who would be interested in this project, please feel free to pass along this information and encourage them to apply. Please contact Suzie Smith (ssmit316@calpoly.edu) with any questions about the project.

Celebrate Black History Month with Rhythms of Resilience
Saturday, February 22nd from 4-6pm (RSVP Today)
In honor of Black History Month, the College of Liberal Arts Student Diversity Committee invites you to Rhythms of Resilience, an interactive workshop exploring the deep connection between dance and resilience within the African diaspora.
Black communities have long used movement as a form of expression, resistance, and cultural innovation—shaping the very foundation of many dance styles we see today. This event is all about celebrating that history, honoring our roots, and recognizing the power of resilience through rhythm. Whether you’re here to learn, experience, or just be in community, this is a space to reflect, connect, and move together.
It’s also a great chance to meet your College of Liberal Arts Student Diversity Committee and learn more about us and the work we’re doing.
Date: February 22, 2025
Location: The REC Center Dance Studio 2
Time: 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm
RSVP here: RSVP Link
RSVP Deadline: February 21, 2025
We’d love to see you there—pull up, bring a friend, and let’s celebrate together!
