Art and Design Students on a Photo shoot

Along with some recent changes and new additions to the faculty, the department has witnessed some exciting developments with the addition of a new collaborative work space for our graphic design students (Room 159B in Dexter Art Building), as well as a series of independent cubicles for our studio students (Room 127), and plans to reconfigure the photography lab (Room 222).

Moreover, the photography concentration has been re-envisioned into “Photography and Video,” which reflects the broadening specialization of faculty and serves the interests of incoming students.

These expansions — both to our physical space and to our concentrations — coincide with a significant, departmentwide curriculum revision that will take effect fall 2015. The department is also gearing up for its National Association of Schools of Art and Design reaccreditation, with a site visit anticipated for the spring of 2017. We will be looking to alumni for support in this important process.
