Other News in Brief: Facilities
The new collaborative workspace for our graphic design concentration students (Room 159B in Dexter Art Building), is up and running thanks to the generosity of the Provost and the College of Liberal Arts. Students can enjoy access to four new student workstations (21.5” iMacs), a new color laser large-format printer, a large-format photo printer, and a large-format flatbed scanner, as well as new task chairs and a conference table, all to enable work on various collaborative projects.
With the elimination of glassblowing from our curriculum, the large furnaces have been moved out to create more 3-D project-based workspace for students.
The department is also gearing up for its National Association of Schools of Art and Design reaccreditation, with a site visit anticipated for the spring of 2017. We will be looking to alumni for support in this important process.
